On Monday November 30, 2020, we will be hosting a Zoom book reading and lecture in honor of Nefashot’s Mental Health Week. We will be reading An Umbrella for Alex by Rachel Rashkin-Shoot, Psy.D., a children’s book that teaches parents how to talk to their kids about a spouse or co-parent’s mental health. Our guest speaker, Dr. Martha Bockian, PhD, will follow this with a brief presentation and a Q & A session. This event will also launch a mini-campaign to raise funds to translate the book into Hebrew. Please register to receive your Zoom link here.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, three new Family Connections groups are currently opening on Zoom for participants from all over Israel – two in Hebrew and one in English.

Space is limited and registration is on a first-come-first-serve basis, so please contact us promptly if you wish to attend one of the sessions and note which one you would prefer.

The duration of each meeting is two hours and there will be 12 consecutive meetings. We will start promptly, so that we can cover all the material. It is imperative that you commit to attending all the sessions as the material and skills build one upon another.

If you cannot attend because of the time or dates, please let us know, so that we can let you know when future courses open up.

Why Give Us a Call?

Why Not Give Us a Call?

[1] You don’t deserve to be alone.

[2] You don’t deserve to suffer in silence.

[3] There is really something you can do to help yourself and your loved ones.

[4] Think about it. If your loved one was suffering from a physical illness, you probably would have called for help a long time ago. Mental illnesses are physical illnesses often caused by chemical imbalances. They just occur in the brain! So call for help now.

[5] And don’t worry, confidentiality is assured. You can share as much as you want or as little. You can tell us your name and life story or remain anonymous.

[6] Though no one can ever really feel your pain, believe it or not, we have experienced some of what you are going through, and we can help!

[7] So if you are ready, take the first step and give us a call or drop us a line. Please don’t remain alone with your pain!

Please remember that the duration of each meeting is two hours and there will be 12 consecutive meetings. We will start promptly, so that we can cover all the material. It is imperative that you commit to attending all the sessions as the material and skills build one upon another.

If you cannot attend because of the time or dates, please let us know, so that we can let you know when future courses open up.

Old News:

In light of COVID-19, three new Family Connections groups are currently running on Zoom: one in Hebrew, for participants from all over the country; one with English-speaking participants from Jerusalem and environs; and one with Hebrew-speaking participants based largely in Jerusalem. These three will finish around Rosh Hashana. And new courses will begin after the High Holidays.
In response to the growing demand, recently the following courses have been run: two in Hebrew in Raanana (November 28, 2019) and Haifa (November 2019), and one in English in Jerusalem (November 20, 2019).

In response to the growing demand, several Family Connections groups will be starting after Passover 2018. They will be in English and in Hebrew and will take place in Jerusalem, Gush Dan, and the South. Older News: Two Family Connections groups will be starting after the High Holidays 2017. One will be in Hebrew and one in English. The Hebrew one will be taking place on Tuesday evenings at Machon Dvir in Baka (Jerusalem) and the English one will be taking place on Wednesday evenings at The Place in Ramat Eshkol (Jerusalem).
